EPGP Calculations
EPGP CALCULATIONS Ok here's the nitty gritty details on how our EPGP works. - First things first. With our current set up you can earn a maximum of 10 EP (Effort Points) points per night, unless we down some new bosses, then you can earn 5 additional EP per new boss. With our system all non-tier items will cost 10 GP (Gear Points). All tier peices will be free of charge and will be awarded to the person with the highest EP. Off-spec items can be won on a roll if no main spec's want the gear, and will cost 2 EP. - Now on to non-tier gear. Non-tier gear will be awarded to the person with the highest PR (Priority). PR is EP divided by GP, or PR=EP/GP. So if I have 80 EP and I take an item that costs me 10 GP, I now have 8 PR. - EPGP is a decaying system. This means that after every raid all previous EP earned and GP spent are decayed. Our current rate of decay is 3%. Let's say you earned 10 EP last raid, and we just uploaded a new raid. That means your last raid is now only worth 9.7 EP. If you spent 10 points last raid on a peice of gear it will now only be costing you 9.7 EP. Every time a raid is entered, all previous data is decayed by 3%. This means that the further back the raid is in our history, the less it is worth, same with the gear, the older the gear, the less it is costing you. - Keep in mind that every time we enter a raid everything decay's by 3%. On a normal raid night there will be 3 raids entered. The first raid will be for signing up, the second raid for being on time, and the third raid will be for finishing. So on a standard night, the system will be decayed 3 times at 3%. - This system really favors consistent players. As you can see, if you were to go AFK for a month where we did a lot of raiding, your EP would be nearly 0.
